So tonight someone told me to go read my bible. i realized at that moment, i haven't seen it since i moved from His house 2+ years ago. Of course it could still be packed away, since He packed my stuff up and stuck it in storage in a way that makes it impossible for me to get to anything without someone with some brawn to help me. Still though, i can still picture where i would have left it, next to His bible on the bed headboard.
i will always remember how that bible came to be mine. i actually have two, one was when i was confirmed and has my name etched in it. The other though was given to me by my mother.
i rememeber when she told me it was coming in the mail it was a big event for her and her excitement was something i quickly shared. i guess she knew how important and lifelong a person's bible is. My bible is white, and it zips up so that if you put anything in it, they never fall out. It also has my name etched in gold letters on the front and finally i was always struck by the fine quality of the pages, very thin but crispy.
When i realized it was missing, it hurt. Fear that i'll never see it again, but also guilt that i hadn't missed it...the very strange thing that went through my head is days ago i had another moment when i felt a tap on the shoulder from above, and now this seems it could be another little attention getter...
i'm trying to listen...
youth, maturity and freedom
